This begins a new and exciting phase of my life. I have always enjoyed a love of classic literature. My Dad insisted all of his children would read from the time we were barely able to do so-and read we did. I don't remember learning it; it was a requirement in our household-simply what we did. Reading allowed me to expand my imagination, my thoughts-to explore the world beyond my surroundings. I traveled to far away places without ever leaving home and I have felt the depths of pain, the exzuberant thrills of adventures, the excitement of mysteries, and the unsurpassed joy of love through the art of literature. At a very young age, I began to create my own images, and write my own dreams-and to express my own heart. I have written plays, songs, poems, short stories and essays. I wrote simply for the pleasure of it. I wrote for others celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, wedding vows, sermons, speeches-and for many years. Now, and through the encouragement of many dear friends and family members, I am publishing my work.
Most recently, I have completed my first novel, called Mother's Milk. The story portrays the life of a young minister who is devastated by the loss of his mother. His road to recovery would last more than fifteen years-but his crippling journey is one that should be examined by anyone who has loved and grieved the loss of someone dear. It is based on a true story. The book is now available to order from the link on this website by clicking the button above (order the book). I am very proud to announce the release of my second book this year. It is a collection of romantic poetry, love letters, and short stories titled, "Forever My Heart. . . .Desires." It is my expression of life's journey in the matters of love-with all of its mystery and uncertainty, frustrations and heartbreak, excitement and jubilation-but especially the joy in finding true, requited love. My other work involves a planned collection of essays in late 2015.. I have also completed a play called "Right Before Our Eyes" that I would hope to bring to the stage in the next two years. It involves a candid look at our communities, the problems that plague them, and solutions to become a better place.
